Eyota Annual Chicken Feed
Eyota EMS has been hosting an annual Chicken feed for over 10 years. Quarter Chicken grilled over charcoal, baked beans, fresh sweet corn on the cob (first of the season), dinner roll and butter are common fare. All proceeds go to support ambulance operations and equipment. Serving nearly 1000 people annualy, we use over 35 gallons of beans, 1200 lbs of chicken and a pickup full of sweetcorn to feed the hungry crowd.

Scouts
Eyota EMS trains many groups. We especially enjoy First Aid training with the Local Boy Scouts Troop. An exaple of what they learn includes identifying poisonous plants, insects and bites, treating a broken tooth, laceration burns, exposure to elements (cold, heat), as well as carries, splinting and first aid kit building. It is fun, informative and a skill that lasts a lifetime. Be Prepared. The motto of a scout.

Teachers and Bus Drivers learn CPR
Eyota EMS Teaches AHA CPR to people that ask us to teach. We regularly teach to teachers, bus drivers, and day care providers as well as church groups, students and small organizations the fundamentals, or advanced skills. We are affiliated with the Gold Cross CTC and provide a variety of AHA approved and endorsed programs through our certified instructors.

Nathan and the big yellow Fire Truck
EMT Nathan really wanted to sit on the Yellow Fire Truck, so the firemen were kind enough to oblige. This was during a EMS week activity in which we arranged the local Helicopter EMS ( Mayo One) to visit our school, and help bring awareness to EMS week. Over 100 people attended and enjoyed the tour of the various equipment.
